Oops, I Grew a Little! 🌷
Corrections, updates, and how I fix my mistakes
I’m learning in public, which means I’ll sometimes get things wrong. When that happens, I’d rather say so clearly than quietly sweep it under the soil. This page explains how I handle changes.
Last updated dates 📅
Every post shows a “Last updated” date near the top. If I change something that matters, the date changes too.
Two kinds of changes 🌗
Small edits
Typos, broken links, clearer wording, prettier photos. I fix these quietly and update the date.
Real corrections
If I got something wrong or learned something that changes my advice, I add a note at the top of the post saying what changed and when. Like this:
Correction, [Month Year]: I originally said to water every week. After losing a plant to root rot, I now check the soil first. The post below has been updated.
I leave the old information visible when it helps, so you can see how my thinking grew.
Follow-up updates
When I learn more about an experiment or a plant diary, I add dated updates at the bottom, like “Update, [Month Year]: still alive, two new leaves! ” That way, a post tells the whole story, not just day one.
How I decide when to update
Right away, if a mistake could harm a plant or mislead someone.
Within a few weeks, if I’ve learned something that changes my advice.
Every [6 to 12 months], I look over my most popular care guides to make sure they still match what I know.
Spotted a mistake?
Please tell me! Send a note through the Contact page with the post link and what you noticed. I’ll look into it, and if you’re right, I’ll fix it and give you a shout-out if you’d like.
The mistakes are part of the point
My Mistakes and Lessons category exists because losing a plant teaches me more than keeping one alive. I’d rather you hear it from me.
